Day 7 - Arctic and antartica + our final project!
Our day started by finishing our Arctic drawings from yesterday....
Then we got started on our final research projects! We needed to pick an animal from any of the habitats we had learned about, make that animal out of clay, and then create a diorama of the habitat where that animal lives.
day 6- Arctic and Antartica
We wrapped up our day by dancing to the 'Sid Shuffle'!
We have now adventured to the cold Arctic and Antartica! We learned how animals stay warm in the cold climates. We conducted a science experiment to test how some animals use blubber to stay warm using crisco in a ice bath.
day 5 - rainforest + food chain
We started our day by continuing our rainforest murals from last week! We collaborated and worked together, and our murals turned out great! We are excited to show them off at parents nights next week!
After we wrapped up the rainforest we continued our day by learning about food chains. We learned about producers, consumers, decomposers, and all that fun stuff!
We started making our own food chains!
We also took an adventure outside where we recreated food chains in real life! We had fun running around and learning at the same time!

day 4- Rainforest
Today we are moving from the ocean to the rainforest! We spent the first part of our day learning a little bit about the layers of the rainforest and the animals that live in each layer. We made a flip book and had small discussions about what lives in the rainforest and why each animal lives in a certain layer....
We then moved on to start our BIG rainforest art project. We are creating GIANT collaborative murals of the rainforest!
Before we start the mural, we needed to each create one animal to add to our murals.

Day 3- Coral reefs
First on our agenda was to finish our ocean layer paintings from yesterday... They turned out great!
After we finished our paintings then we got to work learning about coral reefs. We listened as Ms. Ellie went over a powerpoint, taking notes as we learned!
When we finished Ms. Mace got us started on a super cool art project!
We used pool noodles to create coral reef sculptures.

day 2 - Ocean layers
Today we started by learning about the different layers of the ocean. We learned about what they are called and which animals or plants live in each layer.
It was time for a science experiment! We used water, oil, and food coloring to create our own ocean layers!
We had a great time and learned a lot!

After finishing the science experiment we moved on to a game outside where students had to run to each layer of the ocean when an animal was yelled out!
We cooled down a bit and then we decided to start an ocean layer art project!
We used different colors of paint to create the ocean layers.... to be continued.....

We started our adventure to the ocean! We learned about the three zones of the ocean: sunlight, twilight, and midnight. We conducted an experiment with oil, water, and food dye to represent the three ocean zones.
