Dear students and parents of the Dissection class,
I’m really looking forward to teaching the Dissections and class and hope my students are excited. I teach 7th grade Life Science at Hinckley Finlayson High School. We will be dissecting several animals. Safety, comparative anatomy, and identification of structures is important. Nothing special for you to do except you might want to have some rubber gloves. Some of the specimens do have a slight odor especially the squids and sharks. I never use gloves and few of my students do. It is part of the fun.
Students will also learn about and identify representative reptile, amphibian, fish, and bird Minnesota species. They will need a device for interactive games.
We will stay at school during the extended day and do a larger dissection specimen or two small ones that day. Students should bring their own lunch.
In this short class you will get to do at least ten animal specimens. Included will be worms, starfish, crayfish, frogs, squid, sharks, and a few others. We will be busy and working on several different things every day. Looking forward to seeing you.
If you have questions feel free to call me at 320-241-4903, or email me [email protected].
Sincerely,
Dennis Boxrud
