Day 12 - June 26
Today we learned about the nervous system. We also had the opportunity to watch a play performed in the auditorium by Shakespeare's Kids.

Day 10 - June 24
Today we worked to finish creating our life size bodies and all of the organs inside. These will be on display at open house.
Instead of yoga today students watched a play performance of the Sing It, Act It, Shake It! seek class.

Today we visited the snack bar. Students had the opportunity to exchange money for various items ranging from 25 cents to one dollar.
Notes:
Open house is tomorrow night from 5 - 7 p.m. Dinner items will be for sale in the cafeteria such as walking tacos, hot dogs, and various snack items.

Today we learned about the circulatory system. Students also participated in a chewing activity with carrots and crackers. Students chewed food 10 times and then compared food that had been chewed about 40 times. We discussed the importance of chewing our food to be safe as well as helping our bodies digestive system.

Extended Day
Today we went to Pine Technical College to learn more about the human body. We had the opportunity to practice giving a shot as well as how to hold and care for newborn babies. We toured the college and ate lunch in the cafeteria. Then we walked to the Dairy Queen to enjoy a small cone or Star Kiss.

We an activity to demonstrate how our muscles contract and relax.
In our Human Body book we used yarn and felt to represent the three types of muscles.

We are so excited to share with you how our amazing bodies work. Do you know how many miles of blood vessels you have inside your body? We will be learning many interesting facts about our body systems as well as taking time for yoga poses to connect our brain with our bodies.
There will be a healthy snack provided every day. Bring a well rested body prepared for a learning adventure!
